A reshaping of the ear is usually the recommended cosmetic treatment for ears that protrude noticeably. The surgery itself is executed under via an incision on the back of the ears. The protrusion is corrected by backward folding of the earlobe.
This procedure is generally performed under local anesthesia with I.V. sedation and an anticipated recovery period of 4-7 days.
